AMA/Rekluse National Enduro Prepares for 2010 Series
Taking our eyes off Dakar for a bit, we find ourselves looking toward the 2010 AMA/Rekluse National Enduro. The schedule has recently been released and Sumter, at least, is ready to rock.
The NEPG is excited with this year's improvements, especially the return of the Jack Pine. Also, Maine has been added to the schedule for the first time in many, many years. They continue to improve the fairly new electronic scoring and promise with advanced computer technology and cell phone coverage, we should be able to get pretty close to real-time scoring.
Round 1 starts in Sumter on January 31 with SERMA. Online registration is up and running and filling up quickly, limited to 600 riders. SERMA is hosting a warm up hare scramble the week prior with free primitive camping all week long. KTM will be hosting a spaghetti dinner Saturday night before the Enduro with donations going to the Wedgefield Volunteer Fire Dept. There will also be an adult mini bike race Saturday night under the lights. The Enduro course is made up of mostly sandy, pine forest trails with plenty of spectating areas.
There are 10 Rounds in the Series with the final round being in Matthews, Indiana on October 2. This race will take place on a Saturday, followed by an NEPG year-end party, leaving Sunday for travel time.
