Dakar 2010: Stage Five Update

Between km 339 and 402 it appears that Marc Coma had some bike trouble and has fallen behind by 37 minutes.  Cyril Despres had the lead at km 402 (250 miles) but now Contardo is shown as finishing one minute and 30 seconds ahead of Despres.  Contardo is on the Aprilia.  Jonah Street was shown at 12th place at km 402.

UPDATE:  Just learned that David Casteu (Sherco) suffered a severly broken leg and was unable to activate his beacon.  David Fretigne came along and stayed with Casteu until the helicopter arrived.

Marc Coma had a moose failure(Pirelli)  and had to wait on his backup water carrier Luca Manca.  His regular watercarrier had to retire in stage three after falling heavily and sustaining a concussion.
