Joakim Ljunggren Does Not Disappoint at IEWC, Round Two - Genoa
Husaberg rider Joakim Ljunggren claimed the podium at round two of the Indoor Enduro World Cup in Genoa, Italy, landing himself the third position overall in the series standing after round two. Prior to the IEWC Opener, Joakim's name wasn't in the predictions, names tossed around included the usuals -- Taddy Blazusiak, Ivan Cervantes, Mika Ahola. Joakim, a newcomer to the indoor enduro, is pleased with the way his first year is coming along, no doubt. He credits his success in part to the time spent practicing with Taddy Blazusiak before the US Endurocross final in Vegas recently. Joakim's ride in Vegas was non-eventful except for his win in the night race.
In Genoa, Joakim had a slow start in the first race, but raced smart and came in fourth place. Moving up to third place in the second race he credits to finding some great lines in the first couple of corners. Going into the final race with the overall top three result up for grabs, Joakim wanted it and wanted it bad. He pushed ahead of Dougie Lampkin and finished fourth, securing the podium for Round Two.
