Oriol Mena came close to victory in E3 while Xavi Galindo just missed the podium in E2.
Great performance of the Husaberg at the first round of the 2010 Spanish Enduro Championship, which once again took place under toughest weather conditions, like many races so far this season in Spain. The race even had to be cut short by one special test.
Under continuous heavy rain and tests covered in deep mud – which caused a lot of track modifications by the organizers – Oriol Mena demonstrated his excellent form, fighting a hard battle for victory in the E3 class, to which he moved up to this year, from beginning to end. In the end the Spanish XC Champion came a close second to mud-specialist Bartosz Oblucki and fourth in the overall result.
In E2, Xavier Galindo put in a good debut on the Husaberg, finishing in fourth position, less than one minute short of the podium. An excellent upbeat to the outdoor Enduro season for the Spanish Husaberg riders, who already get the next chance to shine at the second round of the championship on the coming weekend at the traditional Enduro del Segre. There they will be joined by fellow Husaberg Factory team mates Joakim Ljunggren, Valtteri Salonen and Calle Sjöö, who will use this race as preparation for the 2010 EWC, kicking off in Spain on April 10th.
