The Race Shop Team

Despite his alleged post-race vow of  "never, ever returning to that God-forsaken place as long as I live," James Embro returned to compete in the Dakar for a second time in 2007, such is his passion for high performance bikes in a  full-on, full-speed rally.  Embro is full of experience of the hefty rally, such as the Dakar, Baja, TAT, and Best in the Desert. 

James Embro saw a need for an east coast source of the exotic Dakar bikes and so he opened The Race Shop on February 22, 2008 in Norcross, GA to "specialize in Husaberg motorcycles, from sales, service and parts all the way up to putting together adventure and training rides."  

The Race Shop has grown tremendously since '08.  Many new product lines have been added including Klim riding apparel.  The Race Shop sells every single make and model of Husaberg and a variety of Betas and tons of parts to fit them all. 

Embro still rallies whenever he gets the opportunity, always participating in Vegas to Reno.

Brett Burkitt has over 33 years of racing experience and 25 years working with KTM.  When Jame Embro started talking about opening The Race Shop, the timing seemed good and Burkitt was easily persuaded to join this new venture.  Drop by the shop any weekday and it's most likely going to be Burkitt manning the store.   He provides a wealth of knowledge and is eager to help you find what you need.  

Brett races a lot under The Race Shop banner, usually on a Beta.

Michael Grizzle races most weekends under The Race Shop banner, usually taking The Race Shop support truck along with him.   Grizzle began riding motorcycles at the age of 5 on a Yamaha 60.  Now he is most often found on a Beta or Husaberg, racing at NEPG or GNCC and is also heavily involved in most FTR, SETRA, SERA and more races.

Mark Hutchinson started riding on a Yamaha YZ 250 and now most often rides the Beta 400 RR.  He races in all The Race Shop usual enduros and hare scrambles -- GNCC, NEPG, FTR, SETRA, SERA, etc.   His favorite NEPG in 2010 was the Cherokee with the red clay and pines, his favorite GNCC is Big Buck.
